Birdhouses as nesting sites
In nature, birds such as tits, nuthatches and treecreepers find natural breeding grounds in sparse forests and open landscapes that are rich in deadwood. This deadwood not only serves as a source of food, as many insects live in it, but also offers ideal nesting opportunities.
However, in many areas today, the natural supply of deadwood and thus nesting sites has declined sharply. In this changed environment, birdhouses become an important support for our garden birds.
